Skating Skills can be hard for parents to understand.
They are not as easy to see as jumps or spins. But parents can still learn what to watch.
Do not look only at speed.
A skater may look fast, but the Skating Skills may still be weak if the skating looks tense, shaky, forced, heavy, or uncontrolled.
Parents should mainly watch: balance, flow, stability, and blade control.

✍️ Summary
Parents do not need to judge every technical detail. Start by watching balance, flow, stability, and whether the skater controls the blade throughout the program.
